Using Business Contact Manager will not connected to database

We have two salesmen working from laptop and one from a desktop. If we
install BCM on the server everyone can share it when on the network or over a
VPN. However, if the salesmen are disconnected from the network, (that is on
the road or plane) can they still open the contacts, accounts and
opportunies? Will they synchronise when they next connect?

In a word, Yes. That's exactly how BCM operates. They will have an
"offline" copy of the database on their laptops to use while disconnected.
When they connect again, whether in the office or via VPN, BCM will synch
up.

Does this work in BCM 2003 or BCM 2007 or both?

In 2007... 2003 didn't let you synch offline.
