Using an external USB hard drive

My W2k machine reports, correctly, that my new WD drive has 120GB. But
when I try
to copy a 4GB file onto the drive, I'm told there's no room. Duh?

Do I need a driver? WDC.com says I don't. But I sure need something.

Anybody had any experience with this? I tried installing SP4 (I had been
at SP2) but that
had no effect on the drive behavior.

What file system is in use? Fat32 or NTFS? If it is Fat32, this is a well known and well documented limitation.
