Using a Motorola PC850 with Windows Vista

As I mention in the title, I am using a Motorola PC850 dongle with Windows
Vista. I plug the dongle in and Windows immediately downloads the drivers and
installs them. The trouble is, when I go to configure the dongle's
attributes, there is no Bluetooth icon in the control panel. I have read
numerous pages and they all tell me to go to control panel and set everything
up through the Bluetooth icon. How do I get the Bluetooth icon back in the
control panel? Do I have a defective copy of Vista? Is there somewhere where
I can download this?

I have the exact same thing. I think the bluetooth stack in Vista does not
recognize or support this adapter even thought the driver is available. You
might want to try broadcomm bluetooth software which is the PC850 chipset,
however, it's not officially supported by broadcomm.

I tired installing the software and using the PC850 and it just locks up my computer. According to their web site the Belkin F8T013 will work. They have a Vista driver on the support section of their site. I am going to buy one of them and try it out.
