I got a virus over the weekend and had to reload xp.
After reloading I now have two sets of folders. It did
keep all of the files in my documents, my pictures etc but
when I go to open or save it is going to the "new me" that
doesn't have any files in the folders.

Can I merge these together? I tried moving the folders
from the old one to the new one but my computer does not
like that.

Take ownership of the old files and you'll be able to move them. Look
under Help & Support for "take ownership".
