Got a virus on old computer and had to format old hard drive. Still unable to
reload windows xp, so decided to purchase new computer. New system running
vista but my email address is still the same. I was able to keep my contacts
but all my sent and stored messages are gone. Any way I can retrieve these?
Thanks for any help I can get.

They are usually stored on the hotmail servers

There is a free Outlook Connector (Office Update site) but as you have Vista
you have Windows Mail

Well some information is better than none? Without knowing how you accessed
your 'msn.com' account previously, who can say?

If you used POP3 access, all your email is deleted from the server after it
is downloaded, if you are used a standard (non-Microsoft) email client, or
MS Outlook Express. In which case, all of your downloaded email is in the
MSOE message store on the old computer hard disc.

My email was received through the msn homepage website. The new system gets
the email the same way, except through hotmail, but with the same old msn.com
extention.
