Greetings,

Thank you for your post.

There isn't enough information to know what is causing these event log
messages beyond knowing that some service is attempting to contact a domain
controller three times at roughly five minute intervals every 24 hours.

This is just a hunch but the Windows Time Service can be configured to
attempt to synchronize by contacting a domain controller periodically. A
general description of the time service can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/howitworks/security/wintimeserv.asp

If possible, as a test, stop the time service ("net stop w32time") and check
the event log after 24 hours and see if a new set of the messages does not
appear in the event log.

You could also check the Scheduled Tasks (under Programs |Accessories|System
Tools) and verify that there isn't a program scheduled to run every night
that could be the source of the events.

Failing that you might check other Windows services that can be configured
to initiate periodic connections.

Best Regards,
