Hy

I've had some problems with my pc so I installed a fresh version of
Windows XP Pro SP2 on my pc. When installing, I had to enter a admin
password and when first time booting XP I had to enter a user name
(like always, no problems so far)

But next times, when booting, instead of logging on automaticly, I had
to choose a user. But not the usuall way (with the nice little logo's)
but the 'old fashion' way where you have to type the user name and the
password. Ok, no problem, I just go to configuration screen => user
accounts and change the way logging on. But when opening the user
account screen I get following message (screenshot @
http://users.telenet.be/svendaems/screenshot.JPG):

The useraccounts off the configuration panel can't be opend!

So there's no other way I can automaticly log in to my user (and not
administrator)

Thanxs in advance

I've never seen that error message before but you might want to
take a look at this article:

User Accounts applet is completely blank
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/useracc.htm

Hopefully, that will help resolve your problem

Keep in mind that you can change the account that's
automatically logged on by doing the following:

Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
In the "Users of this computer" box, click on the User you want
to have logged on automatically.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
Click OK.
In the box that pops up, make sure the account you clicked on
earlier is entered next to User Name.
Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if the account does
not have a password.
Click OK.
Reboot to see if you get the desired results.

Good luck

Thanxs man

I can now automatcly log on thanxs to the control userpasswords2. But
url you've given doesn't work. But my problem is slightly
different. When pressing the OK button, the user accounts pannel
closes..

But no problem, I don't need the pannel
