user specific screen resolution

After I reloaded Windows 2000 on my PC, the screen resolution and color
depth is no longer unique to each user. If one user changes the resolution
to 640 X 480 and 256 colors, it changes it for all logins. Is there a fix
for this?

That is expected behavior. There's no native way to do otherwise.

The Windows 2000 user guide states "One of the advantages you gain with
Windows 2000 is the ability to retain individual profile settings. If you
have set up specific desktop settings such as screen size, wallpaper, etc.,
this information will stay with you so whenever you log in to your computer,
your desktop will look the same, even if other people log in and use
different settings. This is especially helpful if you share a computer with
others who may have different desktop settings." Plus, I am sure that I had
it set up this way before. I have one program that requires 1024 X 768, so
I just created a login specifically for that screen size.

Yes that's correct about profiles in general but no native functions for
different resolutions in any of the NT'ish operating systems.
