user profiles under windows 2003 and xp pro

we just upgraded our server to windows 2003 enterprise, and we have a user
with a xp pro account. He wants to keep all his current settings on his XP
account, but when he logs on, he doesn't have access to all his local XP
files. If he wants to look at documents or other files, he has to log into
his computer locally, but then he doesn't have access to any of the Servers
files.
What we are going to try to do is copy his profile off of his XP machine and
copy it over to the Server, but before we do this, I want to see if this
will work for him or if there is an easier way so that he can have all of
his settings, and access to all his files, but still be logged on to the
server.
Thanks
Luke

Access to all files of the machine local account
and the look/feel settings of that account must be
recognized as distinct but overlapping migration
targets when you try making a new account, domain
or local, have those same accesses and settings.
Some files are stored withn the profile, but this is
not a requirement, and controlled access files
can certainly be outside of the profile.

The most simple thing for you to explore is using
the FAST, files and setting transfer, wizard/tool.
You will find FAST as the fastwiz installable in
the support\tools directory of the XP distribution.
