Hello Everyon

User Name Mapping uses password and group files stored locally on the windows box which means you have to refresh those files. What is the most secure and best way to update the files automatically on the User Mapper server(Windows box)? Should it be done on the UNIX side or the windows side? FTP? Telnet

Any help would be gretly appreciated

Ideal solution in your case would be to configure a NIS server (eg: the one
in SFU) and map NIS users to Windows. Meaning you get syncing and updates
with no overhead.

If you insist on periodic syncing of passwd/group - you can use NFS
server/client, ftp, samba...endless possibilities, really.
