Just noticed that Windows 2000 sometimes restarts when a
user logs off, rather than just going back to a log-in
dialog. I cannot find a similar problem in KB--maybe
there's a better search string than "log off restarts",
perhaps?
This happens predictably after playing a game (Rise of
Nations), but it also happens after a user has only been
browsing on the web for a couple hours--no other apps
running.
When it restarts it goes through a file check as though it
had been shut down improperly. If that were so, why would
it restart?
Any thoughts, solutions?
