User accounts

I'm having trouble with a friends account when she
switches her pc on it comes up with a password box that
does'nt require a password, click ok and it loads her xp
account, with no option for the other users to log on. We
have tried to do a system restore but her account is
limited so wont allow it. In control panel to change the
account type to Administrator their is only her account
showing, and none of the other 3 accounts, 1 of which is
an admin account, when we log of again it gives no option
to change accounts, it just comes up with the password
box again and an option to shut down, we'd be very
grateful for any help

Cheers Gary B

Hi Gary,

Do you see the same thing when loading Safe mode? It may be possible that
the other accounts are deactivated (bug perhaps?). Safe mode should allow
the administrator prompt.

I have the same sort of problem. Boot up goes to "welcome " > "user" (login).
Click the login and the only action that is successful is "turn off
computer". "Control alt delete" goes to a "log on windows" dialiogue box
which requests the "users" password.
I've not set the computer for multiple users nor established a password.
Anyway this action is equally unsuccessful.
I can't get "safe mode" to work either.
So I'm no help but would appreciate any that is offerred.
