User Accounts

When I click on the user accounts icon in control panel
or the user picture in "start" – nothing happens.

I'm logged on as administrator and using XP HOME edition.

What I have tried to do:

1. Restored the file nusrmgr.cpl from the Win xp disk
running this file directly without any result.
2., tried also to perform those actions in safe mode.
3. The PC has been scanned with anti virus, Spybot and Adaware
software without results.
System Restore is not effective because all restore points older
then one month were disappeared.
4. Start>Run>sfc /scannow does not report anything.
5. Start>Run>control userpassword2 - presents the list of users, but isn't
the
real thing.

Am I missing a file? a dll? a registry entry corrupted? bad luck?

Thanks for your help.

Do you get the same results with other icons or wizards? Does Windows
Explorer do the same thing? This could be the after Have you added any new
hardware or software recently ? I need more information to give you a
better answer.

Good Luck

Thanks for your response.
All other icons and wizards works normally.
Windows Explorer is perfectly normal also.
I have installed recently a new "All-in-one" printer HP psc 1110.
I have also installed recently the ScreenPrint32 software for
screen capture.
