User Accounts & Welcome Screen

Mike

I had my system booting to Windows by passing the
Welcome/Logon Screen, but ever since I FULLY updated
Windows I have not been able to do so. It goes to the
Welcome/Logon Screen & I must click on the user name. I
know that it was a update, I figure it was, but I dont
know which one it was. I would like this to stop as I use
PC Anywhere & control remotely when Im out of Town & so
on. Sometimes I install apps that require restart & I
restart, wait a few minutes & reconnect back to PC
Anywhere. If someone could email me how to change this,
without system restore, I would appreciate it. I have
made alot of updates & changes to my system since the
updates.

Thank You,
Mike Petty

.. Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.
.. Type in the following:
control userpasswords2
.. now click OK
.. In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the
primary logon.
.. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.
.. Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected
users password.

Click OK.
The changes will work the next time you restart your computer.

How to Enable Automatic Logon in Windows

PS it wasn't a good idea to post your email address in the NG, you may now be
hit by lots of spam etc. It would have been better to type
(e-mail address removed) or something like that.

Thank you, Also I know about the spam thing. I dont know
what I was thinking, hence that account is used for
Family and Friends anyway, so I will change the option
that only people in my contacts can email me. Its also a
old account and hardly even used.. But thanks for the tip
and reminder.
