User Accounts Advanced Tab missing

Since installing SP2 on XP Professional, the Advanced Tab under User Accounts
seems to have disappeared. Is this by design??

Hi,

Never was an advanced tab under the User's applet - what are you trying to
accomplish?

I want users to be required to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE before logging on.

if you enter "CTRL+ALT+DELETE before logging on" in Search of Help and
Support Center, you get to the following text:-

Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
Click the Advanced tab.

In Secure logon, select the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
check box.

The problem is there is no Advanced tab and consequently no Secure logon.

Control Panel - User Accounts - Change the way users log on or off - Remove
the check in 'Use Welcome Screen'

Hi Martyn,

That is a different command, that you are speaking of. The Advanced Tab can
be found here:

Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2

Then go to Advanced/Secure logon/Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete

Tip: Add ControlUserPasswords2 To Control Panel (Line 1) Right hand side

Hi,

Yes, the H&S files are wrong on this one. They still have the old Win2K
directions. MS never fixed this, though it's been reported many times.

An alternate way to access this control: click start/run, type "control
userpasswords2" and click ok. The secure logon option is on the advanced
tab.

That will bring up the old style Logon screen.
