Our office has several remote offices that I'm the
administrator for. There are times when I can't remote
control into one of the workstations, but I still need to
be able to get specific information in order to
troubleshoot the problem. Is there a way to give users
access to view information like TCP/IP Properties, or
Client Properties, etc., without giving them administrator
rights? If so, how?

XP Pro has a network configuration operators group that members of can view and
change many network settings without being an administrator. I also noticed that
while a regular user can not run ipconfig /all they can run netdiag if installed on a
machine and they can access command prompt that will give a lot of information
including tcp/ip information though some tests will fail due to user not being an
administrator. A power user on the local machine will have much more ability to view
settings on a computer without full administrator rights but will be able to create
shares and add non administrator group users to the local machine. --- Steve
