used windows xp recovery disk

Help i used my recovery disk and now i cant seem to get anything to work right.
My main concern at this time is when i try to change my screen resolution i
cant get to the bottom of the page to click on ok / or apply tabs.. HOW do i
change the window size??? there is no minimize tab nor can i use the drag
arrows to raise it up high enough and the little arrows used to shrink or
expand a window wont work either...Did i mess something up during the
recovery action?I just did what the instructions told me to do.Please
help!!!!!

Press ALT-SPACE, M and try to move the window with the cursor keys
now.
Or press ENTER to see if this helps. In many dialog boxes this works
like if you press the OK button.
