Use of an external USB hard drive for gaming.

Hello everyone,

I am a keen PC gaming enthusiast, and am interested in purchasing an
external 120 gb USB hard drive, as I'd like to have a drive for gaming alone,
as they tend to take up a lot of space on my computer. I also use a second
computer at a different location, where I also play games. Would someone be
kind enough to advise me if this is realistic way of simplifying things,
without the need to install and remove games continuously? Meaning, could I
take this external USB hard drive with the games already installed, and then
plug it in to whichever computer I happen to be able to use at the time,
therefore being able to continue the game from where I left off?

My apologies for such a long question! Many thanks for your co-operation.

I have noticed that not all games keep thier data files in the same place.
ie.. Tiger Woods 2004 keeps data files in documents and settings. If this is
not an issue with your games then you may consider that a USB drive will not
have the same speed as an internal drive and may hinder performance.

The installed games are tied to the OS that the games are installed on . JJ
