Use hit counter for page counter

My server support PHP. I've used a hit counter and pretty happy with it. But
it only counts hits by replacing a hyperline with something like:
http://....../counter/click.php?ID=1. I want to use it as a page counter
especially for my homepage so that I can have only one control panel
interface for everything in my web. Is there a way to do this?
