Use 7500 AIW with showshifter/beyond w/o MMC

Hi,

I am going to set up a computer with a AIW 7500 card.
I am planning to use it with third party software like
Showshifter or Beyond TV. I am also planning
to use a ATI remote wonder with it.

My question is whether I still need to install ATI MMC
or installing driver is good enough? Heard some negative
comments regarding MMC.

As far as Showshifter is concerned, EH, you just need the display and
capture drivers for the card - and probably DX 9.x FWIW. Remember, if
you're using a non-NTSC (i.e. PAL/SECAM) tuner card under W2K/XP, either
don't install DX 9.0b (but do install the associated security update), or
make sure you have the M$ fix available.

Showshifter seemed to me to give excellent picture quality, had a very
clunky interface, and there seemed to be a few issues with a VIVO as opposed
to an AIW card, which I never bothered to sort out. AIR it seemed to
capture Ok, but I never got round to doing any serious capping with it.

what problem gives directx9B on non NTSC?
Is it this problem ? i installed mmc 8.9 workt fine now i installed direct
X9B and my channels are lost
well they are there but it wil not display i see only snow.... and what can
i do?? what is the M$ fix ? where can i find this ??

There's also a fix that you'll need to install manually if that doesn't work
(some people have reported that it doesn't); you can get it from
www.mustafa.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fix.zip.
