Help someone! My Gateway Pent4 is having a problem.
None of the 4 USBs will work on the machine. This has
happened all at once. I keep getting an Unkown Device in
the device manager; even if all 4 ports are empty. I
have tried uninstalling them all and rebooting; but to no
avail. I have tried to restore the system; nothing. I
am getting ready to reinstall windows, after I finish
backing up everything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Use device manager to removal all USB components, ports,
hubs, controllers and reboot.

I have tried all that and still shows an unknown device;
even with nothing plugged in. I have 1 of the 6 usbs
working, but only for certain things, works with mouse,
but not with Palm cradle...

Remove everything with device manager, unplug all USB
devices.

Install the software drivers for the device, reboot.
Then plug the device in.

Do each install and reboot between each.
