USB Support

Hello,

Which components should I include to enable USB support on my target?
Basically, I have some non standard USB device. The installation
procedure on XP Pro is following: I plug the device, and receive the
"found new hardware" notification, and point the installation to the
CD ROM.

On XPE I don't get this notification. I tried playing with different
USB / Generic USB components, but it doesn't work. Could somebody tell
me which components are required, so that XPE can detect new USB
devices and notify me about it?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Sasa

Sasa,

Totally depends on what USB device type you are playing with.

Assuming you are using Explorer shell, the reason why you don't see notifications at run time could be some missing options on the
"User Interface Core" component settings page.
Also, you can always install your device in Device Manager and don't wait for the new hardware notifications. (assuming you've got
the Device Manager component in or just add "Administrative Tools Support" stack)

Thank you for your response.
I had all but USB ATAPI, and then added VIA Rev 5 or later USB
Universal Host Controller and then it worked.
I'll try removing VIA and add ATAPI to see if it works.

Do you have idea, what is the difference between the two?
