Bootable CD / DVD

HI Forum,

I have created a Windows XPe bootable USB Key using the USB Boot 2.0
component that boots each of over Embedded devices with on USB. (Four
generations in total).

Some of our older devices do not have USB. Is it possible to create a
boot DVD that I can use to start up a CMD shell.

Is the correct procedure to

a) Build a XPe image that boots on all required hardware using HDD
(NTFS). (Do I need to add any special components here)
b) Use hd2iso.exe
c) Burn iso

I tried that above but I could not get the CD to boot.

So Do I need to add any special components like I needed with the USB
to get it to boot.

Thanks

Stuart

The steps are a bit more complicated to create a bootable CD since FBA has
to run first and the El-Torito drive is PnP.

1. Create an image that has the El-Torito, EWF, and PnP Device Enumerator
components. EWF must be setup for RAM overlay.
2. The image must be downloaded to a target hard drive with a partition size
less than 700MB.
3. With the image coppied over, boot to WinPe and use HD2ISO to create an
ISO file
4. Burn the ISO to a CD.
5. put the CD back into the target and boot the target so the image runs
through FBA.
6. Follow the help file to use ETPREP
7. Boot back into WinPE, use HD2ISO to create another ISO file.

You can then burn to a CD or split a DVD- one for the OS and the rest of the
space for applications.
