USB stick drive

Hi,
I tried to install a PCI stick drive 2.0, it shows in device manager as a mass storage device. but
after I installed it I thought, the install wizard never came up. Therefore I never got to install the
driver. the drive is a PNY 1 gig drive. I have SP2 . I believe the universal USB serial driver for
PCI 2.0 installed this device. My problem is even though it shows it is running ok in device manager,
it won't work with the microsoft driver. I have no way to invoke the driver wizard to install the
driver that came with it. Any ideas what I should do? Any help will sure be appreciated.

Daj,

I think that you are confusing PCI with USB.

It sounds like XP recognized the device and installed the XP drivers.

I suspect that your problem is that the drive needs to be formatted. Try
this:
Right click on the "Start" button and left click on "Explore". Right click
on the USB drive(left side) and click on "Format". Let us know if that did
it.

I tried that found no "Format" all that is located there is some jpg files, Right clicking USB Drivers
opens a window, but no option to format. Any thing else you or any one can think of? Thanks,

I seem to be having a similar problem. I just setup a new machine with Xp
service pack 2. When I plug my PNY 256mb USB 2.0 memory stick into the usb
port, it says found new hardware. Then I get the error stating unable to
setup correctly. If I unplug the device an reinsert, windows atates that the
usb device is not recognized.

I do not have the option to format either. Windows never assigns a drive
letter.

Memory stick works in my other pc with xp service pack 1.

Any Help would be appreciated.
