USB Root Hub cannot be recognized

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle USB Root Hub cannot be
recognized? when I plug-in my external HDD device through USB.

You mentioned two different things, an external HDD and a USB ROOT HUB, can
you clarify? how are you connecting your HDD to your pc, via an external USB
Hub, or direct to one of the USB ports?

If you have an Intel-based system, you MUST install the chipset
drivers. Grab them here:
