I jsut got a brand new Dell desktop, into which I installed a USB 2.0
hub that was in my old Dell, and also used one of the existing USB
ports on the new one to plug in an external 2.0 hub.
I'm getting error messages on the new computer (running XP SP2) that
suggest that the device could run faster in a high speed USB port, so
it seems it is seeing the internal and external hubs as 1.1 devices.
I have not installed any drivers for the devices, and the new Dell
recognized them immediately, but the data transfer time through the
hubs was slow, so I switched the attached devices to the ports that
came built-in.
Any suggestions as to why the hubs (which are both 2-3 years old)
would not be recognized as 2.0 devices?
