Okay I just bought this US Robotics modem which is USB
and plugged it into my computer. The problem is that my
windows XP seems to forget that it's plugged in every
time I shut down. So when I boot up, the Simple
Communication Device thing pops up saying it found new
hardware, etc. Alot of times this will also cause my
computer to crash, so that I have to go into safe mode,
uninstall the modem and then totally reinstall it again.
Does anyone know how you can get XP to remember a USB
device/driver? If anyone has a remedy for this, could you
please send me an email? It would be greatly
appreciated!! Thanx-Ray

If your bios support legacy usb you can enable it and reboot.
You can also check if bios support normal performance and set it to normal
performance and reboot

Thanks

Hi, and make sure the device is switched on before you turn on your PC....

This (I think) a driver issue. Return the modem and get one
that works.
