usb problems

Hi About 2 weeks ago my usb stopped wroking for no reason. There is electric
comming out of it . ( I put my finger in it and it gave me a electric shock).
The computer wont reconize it when somethnig is attached . i have
uninstalled it and reinstalled the usb drivers ect and even deleted windows
and everything on windows and reinstalled windows again. What could be wrong

Your usb ports on the motherboard? Try attaching different devices. Are
they recognized? Are the usb ports built-in or on a pci add-in card? It
sounds like a hardware problem.

Yes its built into my laptop.
I think its broken. How myuch is it if i take it to a shop and get it
fixed

You would need to take your laptop to a shop that specializes in fixing
laptops. Usually your best course of action is to call the laptop
mftr.'s tech support. Laptop hardware is normally proprietary.
