usb problems

I am having problem with my Mp3 player when pluggin the device into my USB port it says Unknown USB device. I have uninstalled all of my USB devices numerous times but it still does not read this player although it does read my printer. Any help would be appreciated.

See if this helps. You may need a powered hub if the power rating of the
port is insufficient for the device.
