USB printer prevents WinXP shutdown

Hi,
When I have my USB printer (Brother MFC-4420C) powered
on, my WinXP Pro 2002 SP1 hangs during shutdown, when it
says "saving your settings". At the same time my USB
mouse stops responding. I've definitely confirmed it's
the printer that causes this -- I have 2 other USB
devices (mouse, external harddrive) that don't have this
effect.

I've checked the KB on this but no luck. Any ideas out
there? Thanks.

For anyone else who's interested: I have a fix from
Brother. They have an updated USB driver to correct this
problem. But you need to call Brother tech support to
get it.
