Not usually. USB is usually USB 1.1 and it was too slow, so the camcorder
people used it to get the still pictures off the camera or the e-mail
quality video.
USB 2.0 is fast enough but it is only being used by the DVD camcorder people
(Hitachi).
So if you have a standard DV camera you must use Firewire.
