Bill

I have XP home edition. I have a SONY cyber-shot DSC-P52
digital camera. When I plug the USB cable in the PC, the
PC no longer recognizes the camera, same thing if I
insert the Memory stick into my PC (HP PC has the memory
stick readers). PC used to recognize them both. Now I
have to go to the START and SEARCH then th photos pop up.
How do I get the PC to recognize them again?
I can use other items on the USB port and they are
recognized.
Thanks,

Bill, disconnect all your USB devices then rt click on
MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>USB Controllers. rt
click on each and choose uninstall. Restart and let XP reinstall them.
Reconnect USB devices.

Thanks for the help, I tried this and they all installed
again at re-boot, when I plug in camera it just say new
hardware found and ready for use. Is there something I am
forgetting to do to bring it up now? I thought it used to
pop up automatically upon plugging in camera. It is
probably something very simple I am missing and drawing a
blank all of a sudden! Thanks for th help.
