usb mouse lockup

WinXP, Logitech wired Optical USB mouse with latest drivers.

The mouse 'freezes' operation for up to three minutes at a time. Sometimes a
reboot is needed.
I have tried it on a direct USB port and using a PS/2 / USB plug adaptor.

Any help is appreciated.

Check with a standard mouse. If this works without these problems,
contact Logitech (www.logi.com) for help and maybe newer drivers.
