USB mass storage Stick problems

I

Ishay Barat

As I am working in a large Hospital and move daily between several
departments I use a USB Stick on several PCs. Until last week all was fine.
But since than my Laptop would not recognize the Stick an than another
Desktop PC followed. The other PCs I am using works OK with the stick.

When I look at the 'Safe hardware Removal' icon, I can se that the unit is
recognized as 'storage device', but the device does not appear on the
Explorer driver list. No matter how many times I remove and connect the
stick and shut the PC or the laptop, the thing does not appear in the
Explorer.

Any body has a clue?

If the computer has mapped a network drive to a low letter, then the
USB drive can attempt to use the same letter and will lose out to the
network connection. Use Disk Manager to give the USB drive a different
drive letter or, better yet, map your network drives to high drive
letters:
