USB Mass Storage Device will function at reduced speed...

Receive the following message when connecting devices to USB ports...

"The USB Mass Storage Device will function at reduced speed. You must add a
HI-SPEED USB Host controller to this computer to obtain maximum performance."


Question: How does one "add a HI-SPEED USB Host controller?"

Is this a driver download function or a hardward purchuse issue?

Appreciating timely assistance.

You may have a USB 1, that's because when you plug in a device that run
whith USB 2, the system notify you : the device can run faster whith a usb 2.
You can add an expansion PCI card whith some USB 2 Ports. Or add a PCMCIA
card whith USB 2 Ports if you have a laptop.
