USB maintenance and recovery disk

Which program/components should you install on an USB DISK to be used for
XPE deployed system for maintenance (such as modify configuration or add new
program or I don't know any suggestion will be useful) and or for recovery
pourposes.

mmhhh.. if you have different HW systems, use
Windows PE (preinstallation environment).

Windows PE is on the first toolkit CD (full version as well
as on the eval). You can boot this CD to see Windows PE.

For Embedded OEMs, Windows PE is fee.
You can get an OPK (OEm installation kit) from your
Microsoft Embedded Distributor. (hopefully AVNET :))

And how to copy the windows PE from the CD on the USB disk?
On the target machines there is no CD ROM drive

Sense behind is to boot Win PE from USB.
You need the CD only to generate the Win PE
on your USB Stick.

or

you can try easely to ghost a predefined image onto
a USB stick with this image:
