Plug the USB drive into an available USB port. Double click the "My
Computer" icon on the desktop. Right click on the icon that represents the
USB drive. Select "Format", then reformat the drive FAT32. When the
formatting is done, dismount and remount the drive. Copy some data to it and
see if it functions normally. If it won't format, or the data still gets
corrupted; the drive has failed.
