USB driver install error "The data is invalid"

I'm trying to install a USB flash disk/audio player. It's
detected OK but when I try to install the driver, I get
the error message below:

There was a problem installing this device - USB Mass
Storage Device. An error occurred during the installation
of the device. The data is invalid.

I'm using Windows XP Pro.

Can anyone help, please?

Sounds like a incompatible driver. Go to the manufacturers website and
download xp drivers.
