Help

I have recently started using my new USB Drive (1.1) with XP home.

The problem is that XP recognises the new drive, but will not allocate a
drive letter for it.
I have checked the device manager, it is not recognising the correct size
and fails to Initialise.

It is working fine with Windows 98 and Windows 2000.

Anyone have any ideas?

Many Thanks

Have you checked the manufacturer's web site for updated drivers compatible
with XP?

PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST - I AM A SILLY A$$
I installed the companion software that came with the USB Drive and realised
that I had secured the drive in my Windows 98 computer..... having entered
the PASSWORD it worked fine!!

Anyone know for a nice stone that I may crawl under?

Yes I have visited http://www.usbdrive.com/support and they do not have
drivers for XP therefore I assume XP doesn't need any.

While you were at the usbdrive website, did you check out their FAQs:
http://198.65.239.235/support/faq.asp#genfaq
My system recognizes the USBDrive, but when I look in My Computer I can't find
it on a logical drive?
Please check if you are connected to a network drive, and if so disconnect some
of the network drives starting from lower letters like E, F or G and then plug
the USBDrive. Once the USBDrive has been detected you may reconnect the network
drives.

it on a logical drive?
Check if your Firewall or other security devices are on. Sometimes the firewall
may restrict the drives to be visible in your "My Computer". You can also set
the settings of the firewall to allow access to USB devices.

If these don't solve your problem, you probably should use usbdrive support --
you paid for it.
