USB Devices not showing as a hardware type when hardware wizard is triggered by connecting USB Devic

I'm trying to connect a USB drive (inside a Roland keyboard) to my Windows
2000 laptop. The device should not need a driver (except on Win 98), but the
hardware wizard is recognizing it as "Other Device" "Int.Storage" and
finding no applicable driver.

Shouldn't USB device be hardware type recognized; that isn't even showing
upon on the list of hardware types, although other USB devices are working
on my machine.

Any idea how to fix problem (or begin troubleshooting) and get drive
recognized?

Gosh - I thought I responded to you yesterday & I do not see it. I suggested
that you:
1. Contact your hardware vendor's support web site to check for the latest
FAQ on your product, to download the latest driver for it compatible with
W2K, to email a request for a fix.
2. Access the Microsoft Knowledge Base web site and search for any articles
for your hardware - particularly for possible compatibility issues.
3. Uninstall the device from Windows Device Manager and try reinstalling by
rebooting and following the W2K New Hardware Wizard instructions (using both
the automatic method and if that's a dead end, go back and click the option
that says you want to identify the hardware yourself - to see if your device
is listed by the wizard)
NEW: 4. Use a Google web search with keywords related to error messages or
your hardware (guaranteed fastest way to finding relevant links to solve
your problem)
5. Provide more detail when you post for help - for example, the make and
model of your USB drive)

Good hunting!
