USB devices are not recognised in Windows XP

I cannot get any USB device to be recognised by my machine.
There is not even any power through the usb ports.

I have uninstalled all the usb drivers and reinstalled (deleted under device
manager).
I have rebooted, but still no joy.

Anyone with any ideas?

Yours are probably Disabled. Go to:
Start>Run>type DEVMGMT.MSC and click OK
Scroll down to your USB devices and rightclick to
Enable them one at a time. If that doesn't work,
you may need to Update the drivers by going to the
manufacturers website of your USB controllers.
