USB Device Problem

Hi guys!
the problem seems strenge. i cant find how solve it neither i find how
to search for it on the net. so i thought. the best way to find
solution is to ask you exp. people. :))

the problem:
i've windows xp professional SP2 installed on my machine. my machine
has 4 USB ports and XP is installed with USB 2.0 driver only. notice
that i cant see USB 1.1 driver in Device Manager.

i've a memory card reader, usb flash drive, sony PSP, Digi cam, web
cam, usb HDD 250GB.

all i'm able to connect is web cam, usb hdd 350 gb 2.0 enabled, digi
cam. and rest of are not getting recognize by my xp. i dont know why.

whenever i connect my usb flash drive, PSP, card reader. the XP says
new mass storage device found. and it shows icon in systray, but i can
see any drive in the "My Computer".

can anyone please tell me how can i solve it. it is getting very urgent
as the days are passing. iøve urgent work to complete.

The USB flash drive has not been assigned a Drive letter. Check to see how
the flash drive shows up in Disk Management.

Pal, u make my day. i've found lots of usefull information on the link
u provided. i had done two things on my pc and i think those are
creating problem. anyways i've read about those and now i'll check it
on my home pc. unfortunatly my home pc has no internet so i cant check
it out right now.

I had a similar problem with my flash drive and found that with the
webcam plugged in, my flash drive would do different things, including
what you describe.
Have you tried it with the webcam unplugged?
