Hi all

I encountered the similar problem . I purchased Pinnacle
LINX plus vedeo catpure device. when connected to my
laptop ( pentium 3 TOSHIBA sattelite , with Win XP ) it
displays "USB device not recognized" and it will never
display add new hardware window. I manually added drivers
provided by pinnacle ,but they are installed with yellow
marks. I disconnect and connected the device in all my USB
ports but gives the same bug. It create Unown Device in
the device manager under USB section. I tried clean
installations, uninstallations of both XP , and pinnacle
studio , but nothing works.
It is making my life miserable , please help.

Thanks

It sounds to me that the USB portion of the plug-n-play is
working. That part it the connectivity and most USB
devices don't need more. But your hardware seems to
require additional drivers on top of that to function with
Windows.
Search the CD for files ending in INF. I'll bet there's
additional drivers. If you go into Device Manager and
choose to reinstall or update the driver, and then point
it to the CD location of the INF file, it ought to fix you
up.
Some installation routines are extremely poorly written.

I hope your problem is this simple.
Good luck!

Hii,

Just try to get into device manager . Now get into Universal Serial Bus
Controller > remove all entries of
Usb Host Controller > Unplug the usb device from your PC
Restart PC >Replug the Device to the PC.

Cheers !!,
