iPods have been known to fail.

Disconnect the two that are working... what happens?

Plug it into its own port... what happens?

....helpers, do you think the microsoft MrFixit webpage will help, I spied a
USB devices not recognised fix there recently. But that fix seems to refer to
new USB device not recognised...but hey, who the heck am I anyway.

Well there could be two issues: One it could be a problem with the computer
not recognizing the new hardware or a problem with the Ipod itself.
Usually I pods are "PNP" devices "Plug And Play" Any PNP device when
plugged in to a USB port in this case I am assuming will automatically add
itself and install as new hardware in about five minutes. Since two I pods
works, it appears the one Ipod has malfunctioned. If other PNP devices do
not work, then it would appear to be an issue with the computer. Does that
help?
