USB Device Not Recognized under Vista

I have been using a Trust 7 Port USB Hub with Vista SP1, using the
built in Vista driver, without issue.

However, Vista has suddenly started to report this has 'USB Device Not
Recognized'. The hub works with XP and other USB devices work fine
when plugged into the same port.

I have tried deleting the infcache.1 file as suggested in other
threads but no joy.

Can anyone suggest a remedy?

Thanks

Neil

hmmm, well try and uninstall the device in device manager then
disconnect it and reconnect it and re-install the device this should
fix the problem. if it is still the same go onto teh trust website and
look for the drivers compatable with vista SP1 as vista SP1 doesn't
like some driversbecause microsoft want the people who write the
drivers to write them better and more secure or something.

hope this helps a little..

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling through device manager - still
gives the same 'USB Device Not Recognized' message.

Trust support say that the device should work with the built in Vista
drivers. There are no drivers for download on the Trust site.

ok then maybe you should return the device to the place you brought it
from and ask for a replacement (if it's still under the 12 month
guarentee), if it's not under the guarentee then you may have to buy a
new one.

Just one last question, does it still work in xp (or another os) now?

Did anyone ever solve this? I can't use USB devices reliably since SP1. I
have bought a couple of new hubs and they just get reported an unrecognized.
My printers don't wrork and ReadyBoost just disappears after a few hours.

You obviously have a SERIOUS problem, and I have no solution for you.

I am using an ancient USB 2.0 4-port self-powered hub and 6 built-in
USB 2.0 ports - all work flawlessly here.
