USB Device has malfunctioned

Hi,

I recently loaded a Wireless USB Lan adapters to my XP Pro. Now
Windows does not recognize my external USB hard drive. I
have reloaded all the drivers, and the system says the hardware
is running fine; but the taskbar gives a message that the
USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not
recognize it.

How can i resolve this problem? Please Help !

Check the drive on another PC. It might have died.
