USB device disconnect sound

Hi,
I use Windows XP Pro with SP2 and i awared of that:

SOMETIMES, when you remove the usb device (e.g. "flash drive"),
PHYSCIALLY after clicking "safe remove" option and permission, i may
not hear "discconect" sound. Sometimes when i disconnected i hear,
sometimes don't.

I always hear when i connect the flash drive.

I think it's related to WinXP SP2. Is there a explanation or hotfix for

that?

Please reply, thanks in advance.

Regards.

The sound is nothing more than a sound. Whether you hear it or not
really makes no difference. As long as you're removing the USB drive
safely there's nothing to worry about.

Ted is right. I sometimes don't get the "bee boop" sound at all, or it may
come several minutes later. It all depends on what the system is doing at
the time you remove the device. Don't worry about it.

It's not SP2, the same thing happens for me in SP1. Usually it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It's inconsistent which is annoying,
but not really a concern. In fact, if you set the drive's policy to "optimize for fast removal" instead of "optimize for speed",
then you can disconnect at will, WITHOUT having to use the safe remove command.
