Usb Composite device + boot

I am trying to boot eXP off of a usb mass storage device which is one
part of a usb composite device. I can run ufdprep etc, successfully,
have built an image with the usb 2.0 boot component. When the boot
process starts it BSOD with the Stop 7B error. Same image works
successfully with a usb flash drive that is not a composite device.
This makes me think that booting off of a composite usb device is not
supported

Can someone confirm whether or not the above scenario is supported. I
am using an Eval version with the 2007 Feature pack.

Are there any registry tweaks that I can apply to work around this
issue ?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Would really appreciate it if anyone with some experience with usb
boot could help ....
I have tried adding the foll: registry entries that I think need to be
in the CriticalDeviceDatabase - but am not sure of the exact format
for these ... Where is the format for these entries in the CDD
documented ?

1: usb#Vid_XXXX&Pid_XXXX#usbSerialNum
usb#Vid_XXXX&Pid_XXXX#usbSerialNum\Class : USB
usb#Vid_XXXX&Pid_XXXX#usbSerialNum\Service: usbccgp

2.usbstor#disk ?????? WHAT format ???????????
usbstor#disk ?????? WHAT format ???????????\ClassGUID :
{4D36 .... }
usbstor#disk ?????? WHAT format ???????????\Service : disk

TIA

I finally got it to work by fiddling around with the registry settings
- but if the Update Rollup resolves it then I'd much rather use that
solution.

I'll give it a try and thank you for responding

The Update Rollup didnt really do it for me.. :-(

After experimenting with the various registry entries in the
CriticalDeviceDatabase and driver Start values, it appears that I MUST
set the usbccgp Start value to 0 (i.e., Boot start). Are there any
side effects of doing so .. ? I am wondering if the usbccgp.sys
depends on the existence of any other driver components ... Does
anyone know ?

It appears that I also need the same changes in the system hive after
the FBA runs..otherwise I get the Stop 7B error again. How do I make
changes such that it can be used for the first boot and then persists
after the fba has also run ?

Thanks
