USB 2 PCI card

I bought a DYNEX PCI card and installed it on my Windows XP computer, I then
down loaded the disc that came with it. Now, I find my PC does not recognize
the USB device. Although, the card is compatible with my PC. I don't know
what else to do. Appreciate your help.

Do you mean that you have installed the driver of the PCI card,
but then your USB device plugged into a USB port is not detected?
Does this card have a power connector?

Most "add on" USB 2.0 PCI cards are automatcially detected in Windows
XP SP2.

Maybe un-install the "software" that was load from the CD / disk.

Jimbo, go into Device Manager>USB Controllers and look for a USB
Enhanced Controller which is the USB 2.0 ver.
If Card is not recognized then try a different PCI slot.
