Hi,
I have been running XP Pro SP2 for a few months a laptop. A few days
ago I plugged in a USB 2.0 device (Sony pen drive) and I was presented
with a message saying "This Device Can Perform Faster etc." and
basically telling me that the ports are now USB 1.1
Previous to this, USB 2.0 had been running fine and there are no USB
1.1 ports (4 x USB 2.0). All my devices (pen drives, USB HDDs etc) are
USB 2.0 and they have been working fine.
I tried a system restore, but nothing changed. I then tried removing
all the USB devices from Device Manager and rebooting and Windows
reinstalled them again as USB 1.1 (VIA Rev 5 or higher is what it says
in Device Manager).
Anyone know how to overcome this problem or what might have caused it ?
TIA
